Welcome
Just like most girls her age, 18-year old Payton Klassen manages her life around family, two jobs, horseback riding, friends, and sports. Unlike her peers, however, Klassen also juggles her songwriting and performance schedule.
In pursuit of her dream, Klassen ventured from her hometown of Sherwood Park, Alberta, to Nashville, Tennessee in March 2012 where she performed at Tootsie’s Lounge, Whiskey Bent Saloon. She also competed in the North American Country Music Association international music competition taking first place in the female vocalist, entertainer, songwriter, video, and duo categories for youth ages 13 to 17.
Upon her return from Nasvhille, TN, Klassen penned and recorded her debut three-song EP Future Holds with CCMA award winning producer Bart McKay. The EP was released in November 2012, garnering Klassen two 2013 Alberta Country Music Association Award nominations in the Female Artist of the Year and Fan Choice categories.
Klassen’s stage presence and vocal talent have led her to perform a cappella, alone with just a guitar, and with the support of a full band.
Her highlight performances include the Big Valley Jamboree, Edmonton Oil Kings hockey games, CIBC’s Run for the Cure marathon, Kids Kottage Radiothon, Voices for Hope, Edmonton’s Winspear Centre and was the anthem singer at the Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, AB for the summer of 2013.
Taking the business aspects of her career seriously, Klassen has developed a strong development team around her and is currently preparing for the next steps in breaking in to the national market.
